Milo the Mime Launches Kickstarter July 25, 2025:

Neurodiverse Hero Stars in First “Community-Centered Publishing” Project from Incubator Productions

PITTSBURGH, PA — A new kind of children’s book is making its debut—without saying a word. Milo the Mime, written and illustrated by Pittsburgh-based cartoonist Chas Chasler, is set to launch its Kickstarter campaign on July 25, 2025. A silent hero who saves the day through empathy and action, Milo brings visual storytelling to life in a way that resonates across generations and identities.

The book is also the flagship release of Incubator Productions’ new “Community-Centered Publishing” model, which blends traditional publishing with local engagement and educational programming.

“Milo isn’t just a mime — he’s a celebration of all the kids and adults who think or feel differently, and don’t always get heard,” says Chas Chasler, the book’s creator. “I wanted to tell a story where someone’s unique way of being is what makes them the hero. And to do it in a way that’s visually rich and funny, like the shows and comics I grew up loving.”

A Star-Studded and Community-Focused Campaign

Milo the Mime is more than a book — it’s a movement built around inclusive storytelling and neighborhood connection.

  • The Eli LaBelle and Catalina Pagnotta Team with RE/MAX Select Realty joins as Title Sponsor and will co-host the official publishing launch party on December 13, 2025, in Pittsburgh.
  • Minnock Marketing joins on as a Gold Sponsor, providing the website, digital campaign infrastructure, and marketing guidance.
  • Le Centre Du Silence – Bodyspeak – joins as a Bronze Sponsor providing financial support towards bringing Milo the Mime into the world.

The team includes:

  • Isaac FisherEditor & Publisher: Founder of Incubator Productions, Isaac guided the project from early drafts through final production and now leads the community programming around the book.

“With Milo, we’re not just launching a book — we’re launching a blueprint,” says Isaac Fisher, founder of Incubator Productions. “Our model brings creators, educators, and communities together to support powerful stories and ensure they reach the audiences who need them most.”

A New Model: Community-Centered Publishing

The book is the pilot project for Incubator Productions’ Community-Centered Publishing Program. The model is designed to:

  • Identify scalable creative works that can be presented in a diversity of media formats;
  • Workshop and develop them into professionally published products; and
  • Build community-based programs that extend the story’s impact through workshops, events, and educational engagement.

A Story with Universal Reach

Milo the Mime is a book that champions neurodiversity, kindness, and silent strength. With its visual humor, emotional depth, and millennial-parent appeal, the book offers something special: a story that’s inclusive, timeless, and fun.
